Between July and September, intercultures, our partner in Spain hosted three online workshops, two in Spanish and one in English, in collaboration with the Academy for Diversity and Innovation. Participants from various countries, including Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, Ireland, Poland, and Spain, explored the wide range of resources offered by the eHub. Participants represented a variety of different levels of awareness of diversity and inclusion. For some, the topic was completely new and interesting, while others have been working in the field for decades. In total, we welcomed 40 participants and received 28 feedback questionnaires, which will be used to improve the platform during October.
Following a brief presentation of the project’s objectives and mission, Anna Zelno, expert in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, guided participants through the platform, explaining its functionalities and activities. Special focus was placed on the benefits of the questions provided to debrief exercises, as well as examples of possible responses and solutions. Participants particularly valued the section with the collection of videos and the idea of introducing sections with podcasts, although this section still needs to be completed with the podcasts.
During the interactive session, participants tested two different activities in breakout rooms. This provided a unique opportunity to reflect on their intersectionality and intercultural competence and engage in networking. It gave participants an idea of our consortium’s approach to diversity, which goes far beyond demographic factors. In the last session, we were honored by the participation of Myrtha Casanova, a pioneer in the field of diversity and intercultural management. Myrtha is the founder of the European Institute for Managing Diversity and has played a key role in helping organizations across Europe understand the strategic importance of fostering inclusive environments that leverage diverse talents and cultural perspectives.
