Leadership for Diversity: National Conference in Ireland

On October 15th, Momentum celebrated Erasmus Days with an Open Day at our offices in Leitrim Village. Erasmus Days is an international six-day celebration of the Erasmus+ programme. During the Open Day, guests who were educators, school leaders, and workers participated in the festivities. We were delighted to have 20 participants who learned about our work and mission for Leadership for Diversity.

We were delighted to spotlight the Leadership for Diversity’s mission of empowering educational leaders to promote intercultural understanding and to develop students in diverse classrooms. Lola presented an overview of the Handbook for Professional Development to the audience. She conducted a quick icebreaker. She explained how to use the resource inventory and shared a QR code for the participants to use with the eHub. She answered a few questions from the audience too.

In November, Momentum organized a second conference. We invited 10 guests to participate in a presentation of the project. We had a mix of educators, local authorities, and educational leaders from Leitrim. A similar presentation was made to the one conducted in October. They were impressed by the resources developed by the partnership. They told us it was an essential project for the current environment and promised to share the resources with their colleagues. The eHub brought a lot of interest based on the subjects covered which were unknown to a few participants.

Overall, we had two very successful conferences. We look forward to continuing to connect this project with more school leaders. We will use this project as a guide for future projects related to intercultural understanding. We invite those in Ireland who are interested in learning more to email Lola at lola@momentumconsulting.ie.
